"I'M OK BUT YOU'RE NOT!"
Dealing with difficult people
We all deal with difficult people at some time in our working lives.
Think back to when you dealt with a difficult person… Do you wish
you could have handled the situation better? Would you like some
guaranteed ways to resolve future conflict? Could you use some new
techniques to handle difficult people?
This special session is part of the VSCA
Ultimate Ideas Day: How to gain, sustain and retain more volunteers
in your school
It will be full of ideas for working with people (regardless of
whether you or they are voluntary or paid) and will include:
- The most successful ways to look at conflict differently
- Why being assertive isn't always the best way, and what else
you can do
- How to spot the 4 negotiation styles of volunteers and work
with them
- What 'sponging' is and how it can be your most valuable skill
in dealing with difficult volunteers
- How to take criticism and why you should always ask for more
- What is 'bathing' and how it is the your greatest communication
skill
- The top 3 sure-fire techniques to use in conflict situations
The VSCA Ultimate Ideas Day will be facilitated by Dr
Judy Esmond. Judy is director of MTD - Making The Difference,
is a 'stresspert' (a stress expert)
and is the author of '101 Ways to Less
Stress'. Not only has Judy worked extensively with non-profit
organisations and volunteers, she has also written the best selling
book 'Count Me In! 501 Ideas on Recruiting
Volunteers'. Judy's workshops are always high content,
high energy and great fun!
If you want to add to your skills for working with people, don't
miss this inspiring and motivational day.
