"Anlie has worked at Melbourne High in this position
for the past eight years. Previous to this she was a parent
volunteer.
Anlie is a very generous person of time and herself. She
works extra hours if volunteers don't arrive, without claiming
time. She sneaks money into the till for boys if they are
short on funds. Anlie has given up many Sundays to assist
with coffee making for Parents and Friends or Friends of Music.
I only have to mention something extra is on and she is there
to assist.
For the past four years Anlie has suffered from a reaction
to lettuce. We have tried everything in our power to relieve
her of the task of slicing. Her comment is "that's part
of the job". Sometimes her hands are so sore and painful
she needs to wear gloves to drive her car. This does not deter
her, she is at work each day.
The medical profession advised Anlie to retire and unfortunately
for Melbourne High School that appears inevitable.
Anlie carries out her tasks in a most professional manner.
The extra hours she works, the dedication to her role, the
friendship she displays to the students, volunteers and work
colleagues makes her a worthy recipient of this award."
