"I am pleased to nominate Cinzia Brancatisano as VSCA
P-12 School Canteen Assistant of the Year (paid position).
Cinzia works with me from 9.00 am until 3.15 pm on Monday
and Tuesday.
The Caroline Springs College - Creekside Campus has had a
meteoric growth rise. When the school opened in 2005 we had
250 students. In 2006 we increased to 600 and in 2007 we have
850. The 2008 student numbers will be approximately 1250.
We are still operating in the came canteen premises, with
generally the same storage, refrigerator and freezer facilities.
Cinzia checks, processes and collates all of the daily lunch
orders (between 70 and 130 daily). She then bags the chicken
nuggets, dim sims and corn. Cinzia then assists to pack all
of the lunch orders, ready for collection between 10.40 am
and 11.00 am. Cinzia then serves during window sales from
11.00 am until 11.40 am. After this, Cinzia assists with cleaning
and will help to count the takings, box up the frozen food
ready to put on the next morning, stock up fridges and freezers
and any other tasks she is allocated. After serving for the
afternoon tea window sales from 1.45 pm until 2.10 pm, Cinzia
will continue to count the daily takings. Most days, she does
all of this with little or no break in her day.
During February to June of this year, I was unable to work
and Cinzia took on the extra work-load without complaint.
This included placing stock orders, checking invoices, daily
banking and all other Canteen Manager related duties.
On the other days of the week, Cinzia is the Canteen Manager
at St Paul's Kealba Catholic Primary School. She is also a
great personal friend and I will be forever grateful for the
additional duties she completed during my absence. She was
also kind enough to keep in regular contact with me, so that
I was kept up to date with any changes in the canteen."
