VSCA aims to help school canteen people to help each other to provide the best possible food service for their schools.

VSCA is here to create opportunities for school canteen people to come together, share ideas and information, compare notes and support one another. In this way we help each other to provide the best food service we can for our schools.

VSCA provides chances for school canteen people to keep in touch and share ideas and information through:

• VSCA School Canteen Expos

• VSCA Annual Canteen Rewards Evening

• the VSCA Canteen of the Year Awards

• occasional newsletters and mailouts

• VSCA consultancy and advice services

• VSCA resources including Rates of Pay and Conditions of Employment for Canteen Managers

• participation on the VSCA Committee of Management. (It's fun! To find out more, please contact VSCA.)

VSCA is run by school canteen people, for school canteen people. This means that you are VSCA, and VSCA is you!

In other words... we help each other to happy munching!

How VSCA works to achieve its aims each year is up to our members, especially those who choose to be part of the VSCA Committee of Management.

Our aims & our constitution

Like all Incorporated Associations, VSCA is legally bound by our written constitution.

Our constitution is a more formal way of saying what we have just told you above. The purposes of the Victorian School Canteen Association, as stated in its constitution, are:

• to assist and encourage school canteens to provide the best possible service

• to assist and encourage school canteens to provide nutritious food

• to educate school communities in sound eating habits

• to develop a school canteen resource centre involving self-help initiatives and community co-operation

• to establish a set of standards for use in school canteens throughout Victoria, the basis of which shall be good nutrition and the best interests of students
