Are you from a school canteen?
Small or large? Primary, secondary or P-12? Government, non government
or catholic?
Are you involved with a food service at your school - a school
canteen or tuckshop, special lunch days or preparing and serving
food to students?
The Victorian School Canteen Association (VSCA) Inc is run by
schools, for schools. We help bring school canteen people
around Victoria together to share ideas and information, compare
notes and support one another.
We aim to help school canteen people to
help each other to provide the best
possible food service for our schools.
We also advocate on behalf
of ALL school canteens in Victoria.

The Victorian School Canteen Association (VSCA) is an incorporated
association (A0013400G).
VSCA was the first school canteen association in Australia. It
was founded in the early 1980s and legally incorporated in 1987.
This makes VSCA the oldest school
canteen association in Australia.
We've been helping schools to happy munching for nearly
30 years!
Who & why?
|
VSCA is an
independent,
self-help,
community-based,
non government
organisation.
|
It is for school representatives involved or
interested in any kind of school food service: canteens,
tuckshops, cafeterias, special lunch days, etc.
VSCA has no government funding and is not a government
body. We are a network for school canteen people to work together
and help one another.
Our members include school canteen managers,
canteen helpers, canteen committees, canteen lessees, principals,
school councillors, teachers, bursars, parents.
Our member schools include:
-
small and large schools
-
primary, secondary and P-12 colleges
-
city and country schools
-
government, catholic and independent schools
VSCA Inc is proudly volunteer-powered
-
and we have a chair just the right
size for YOU!
Did you know that VSCA Inc is powered by volunteers? VSCA Inc
has no paid staff. All VSCA events and activities are managed totally
by volunteers!
A voluntary Committee of Management oversees the operations
of VSCA Inc.
VSCA Committee members help to suggest, plan and organise
events and activities during the year to support and assist school
canteen staff around Victoria.
The VSCA committee is made up of representatives from school canteens
around Victoria. The Committee is elected at the Annual General
Meeting each November, but additional nominations may be accepted
at any time during the year.
If your school is a current financial member of VSCA, you are
entitled to nominate for the VSCA Committee.
VSCA Committee work is not onerous - it is fun and
enjoyable - and each Committee member's involvement can be flexible
according to their time, interests, energy and availability.
Membership of the VSCA Committee offers Committee
members a voice to raise concerns, to represent the interests of
and to advocate on behalf of Victorian school canteen staff, both
paid and voluntary.
VSCA Committee meetings act as a forum where Committee
members can discuss issues, ask questions, gain information and
learn new skills to use in their own work.
Serving on the VSCA Committee is a great way to meet
and share ideas with other friendly canteen people like you.
Are you just a little bit interested
in joining the VSCA Committee? Many hands make light work! Why not
join us for lunch to meet us and find out more?
